The perfect storm

We had great plans a few weekends back..

Our weekly trip to the farmers market..

Come home

eat lunch..

Take a nap..

Leave for a wedding of friends at the beach..

Perfectly lovely day..

Everything went according to plan

until

about 12 miles from the wedding when we hit traffic..

Bad traffic..

And then Gibson started saying "I have to go potty"

10 minutes later

Still not moving much.

"I really have to go potty."

15 minutes later

He starts singing his potty song..

20 minutes later

He starts screaming his potty song with URGENCY

25 minutes later...

He just starts screaming "POTTY POTTY"

30 minutes later

Still stuck in traffic

Still screaming.

40 minutes later

We get to a place we can actually get off the road

so Gibson can get out of the car and pee in the woods.

45 minutes later

calm is restored.

However Gibson thought peeing in the woods was so awesome

that when we finally made it to the reception

and he needed to go potty again

he was very disapointed when I explained we had to go in the bathroom

and I would not take him outside to pee.

The moral of the story is: The things you think will make your children miserable..

aka their bladder nearly exploding..

may become a good memory

aka peeing in the woods.

Go figure.

(the picture is from that fateful day)
