The perfect storm

We had great plans a few weekends back..

Our weekly trip to the farmers market..

Come home

eat lunch..

Take a nap..

Leave for a wedding of friends at the beach..

Perfectly lovely day..

Everything went according to plan

until

about 12 miles from the wedding when we hit traffic..

Bad traffic..

And then Gibson started saying "I have to go potty"

10 minutes later

Still not moving much.

"I really have to go potty."

15 minutes later

He starts singing his potty song..

20 minutes later

He starts screaming his potty song with URGENCY

25 minutes later...

He just starts screaming "POTTY POTTY"

30 minutes later

Still stuck in traffic

Still screaming.

40 minutes later

We get to a place we can actually get off the road

so Gibson can get out of the car and pee in the woods.

45 minutes later

calm is restored.

However Gibson thought peeing in the woods was so awesome

that when we finally made it to the reception

and he needed to go potty again

he was very disapointed when I explained we had to go in the bathroom

and I would not take him outside to pee.

The moral of the story is: The things you think will make your children miserable..

aka their bladder nearly exploding..

may become a good memory

aka peeing in the woods.

Go figure.

Farmer's market

We went to the farmers market last weekend..

At first Gibson was very confused as to why there were no farm animals..

And where was Old McDonalds?..

But after the shock wore off...

And he understood there were just vegetables..

He and Aria had a blast...

Here is our loot from the market..

Yes the blueberries were really that irresistible

That a 3 year old boy (who will remain nameless) couldn't wait even a second more

before he had to try one..

True motive

We went to Old Orchard Beach last weekend..

I would like to tell you the sole reason was to spend time with my lovely fam,

I would like to tell you that,

But lets be honest..

It had to do with the deliciousness that I am holding in the picture..

A poutine..

My friend told me that they had them there..

I may have mentioned it to Court..

And voila

because I have the best husband..

we took and hour and 15 minute ride for a pregnancy craving.

( Court, this is starting to make up for the time you didn't drive 7 hours to Rochester to get me a garbage plate during my first pregnancy)

(key word starting)

Toy Story

We took Gibby and Ari to their first movie.

Actually it was Daddy's idea to take us all for a family date night..

It was on a worknight and I think even though Gibson and Aria didn't fully appreciate going out on a school night, they still were super excited.

We accidently saw it in 3d, which I was a little worried about. I was afraid that might push the first time movie going experience to the edge, but they did great.

Gibson bought the popcorn and soda. He ordered it himself and paid. Mind you he used Mommy's money card, and was quite upset when I took back said money card.

He probably wouldn't have been so upset if he realized the shocking lack of money on the money card.

The pictures are priceless and completely capture us.

I love my family..

And btw even though the highlights for me had nothing to do with the movie..

And everything to do with my family..

It was a great movie and I recommend it..

Warning: bring tissues..

Seriously.
