Day 19: Comfort food.

I have a problem.
I have a lot of comfort foods..

There are some foods that invoke memories..
Like my Mom's meatloaf..
Dad's Shepherd's pie..
Pinto Beans and Cornbread
Poutine (it's this)

Foods that are so bad for me it's delicious
Hamburgers
FRENCH FRIES
Poutines

Foods that I craved when I was pregnant.
Apple Pie.
Poutines.

Foods you want when you are sick..
Chicken Soup..
Beef Stew..
and you guessed it
Poutine..

Comfort food is warm and hearty..
It makes whatever negative emotion you feel fade..
at least for that moment you are savoring the taste of that food..
Whatever you are going through..
Comfort food
reminds you of someone or someplace you love..
It reminds you of home

This is one of my favorite verses
It's kind of like Comfort food for the soul..
(someone should title a book that.. oh wait.. Chicken Soup for the Soul.. darn)
Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.
Philippians 4:11-13
