Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!

I have thought about blogging about a certain subject...

But I have always decided against it..

I am afraid of the repercussions of talking about this subject..

People's opinions of me..

My future relationship with my son..

But something happened the other night..

It has become apparent to me that I can no longer be silent on this matter...

That's right I am about to talk about Potty training..

Please bear with me I promise I will try not to be to graphic..

This won't be a daily topic..

But some stories just scream to be told.

We have him in big boy underwear during the day,

Diaper at naps and so on..

He rarely has an accident..

So yesterday when we were sitting at the table I became suspicious when he said the following

Gibby: I am wearing a diaper, right?

Me: No honey, underwear.

Gibby: Oh.

It wasn't a good "oh" either.

It was an "oh"

like "oh, that is something I needed to know"

or

"oh, that changes things"

Sure enough, thinking he had a diaper on he pooped

in his favorite Buzz lightyear underwear..

Later that night he was sitting o the couch with his Buzz toy.

Gibson, in a deep voice: You pooped on me, Gibson.

Gibson, in normal voice: Sorry Buzz.

Deep voice that I know now is his Buzz voice: Hey, don't poop in me again.

Normal Gibson: OK, Buzz, poop in potty.

I really hope all it takes is a firm talking to from an imaginary superhero.

Would it be a bad parent move if I left all the tough discussions up to Buzz?

He seems to know what he is doing.

Edit: I misspelled Buzz Lightyear's name, as to not offend any 3 years olds I fixed it. Sorry for the mistake. :)
