Resolve...

January is a month of cleaning up Christmas decorations..

Getting back into a routine..

And lots and lots of resolutions..

I don't really get into the new year resolutions..

Probably because of many years of falling flat on my face..

Boldly declaring this year will be different..

and then failing miserably the next day.

That's not to say that this year I don't hope I will change..

I am not saying that I hope at the start of 2011 I am exactly the same..

No, I know I need to grow..

What I am saying I don't believe in New Years resolutions..

Life changing behaviors aren't magically given at midnight once a year.

I believe in New Day resolutions.

Deciding every day that I will live out those behaviors I desire..

That every day when I do fail..

I will resolve to ask forgiveness..

and wake up the next day..

realize it's a new day..

with new mercies..

And resolve to constantly strive to be better..

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”
