Oh..

I have a confession.
Wait for it.....
Every year since I have been married...
Court and I have yet to open our presents on Christmas.

I was not raised that way.
I was raised better than that.
I was a strict traditionalist when it came to present opening.
There was a certain protocol and we had to follow it.

But alas.
When I got married Court's enthusiasm for presents corrupted me.
We actually open presents as soon as they are purchased.
Granted I use the term "open" loosely.
Usually the presents never make it to being wrapped.

This year that all changes.
Court and I have made a commitment to be grown up about this.
We will be "parent like" and wait to open presents until Christmas.
Well at least that's the plan now...

  1. my fiance and I already opened ours :-)

we figured we would keep it our tradition since his family is so family oriented and we would have to spend Christmas with them :-)

  2. Last year Josh and I opened our presents sitting in bed at nearly midnight of the end of Christmas night. We scrambled to get it done so we could actually say that we opened presents on Christmas. We spent the rest of the day between our parents' houses. Luckily we never had to drive more than a mile!

If we gave each other presents right when we got them, he'd have his in November and I'd get mine on Christmas Eve!
